Down the Basin

The day began with Mum arriving here just after 9 so I could take her to catch a bus to Snowdonia for 3nights..when I got back I decided to go & visit my cousin S who is currently in the local hospice. Her MND is now affectuing her badly and I couldn't understand anything she said. She does now have a machine whereby she looks at letters on a screen which spell out words which are then spoken by the machine - amazing, but a long old process. She had her lunch whilst I was there which didn't look appetising but she ate it with the help of one of the nurses. I then fed her her ice cream which disappeared very quickly. She is now getting to the stage where she has difficulty swallowing - so if she has too much in her mouth she can easily choke. Anyhow as is usual I made her laugh a lot as well as cry a lot & I promised that I would return on Monday with C & Z. 

Home then for a late lunch then it was time to go see the Doc about my shoulder. We agreed on the diagnosis that it is indeed arthritis & he gave me some exercises to do which will kill or cure ! I was slightly early for the docs so had a quick walk on the towpath near the Canal Basin which is very close by.
