Surf's Up!
I left Rachel's at 8am and made it home in 4.5 hours. Alan had also gone out early to a gun shop in Berkhamstead where he bought an air rifle to use at his shooting club - I should add that he only shoots targets! Anyway, we spoke on the phone just before I joined the M25, and he was also on his way home and only a few miles behind me.
Once I'd unpacked we went out and drove to Ovingdean where we parked up and then walked along the undercliff walk. It was quite warm and not very windy, yet the waves were crashing and there were three guys on surf boards. We watched them for a while and then carried on to the marina where we had a late lunch/early dinner at Bella Napoli.
We walked back along the undercliff and the waves were still crashing, although the tide was starting to go out, but looking at the water on the undercliff, I think we'd missed it at it's worse!
I received a message from Elif's husband Seyran this morning, to let me know that they were at the hospital and would let me know when they had any news. I've just received a photo of their little boy who was born tonight, so Alan and I have now opened a bottle of fizz to raise a glass to him. I don't know any details of time, weight or name, but he's very cute and I can't wait to see him!
