Nesting

Is it really Spring yet ? I saw my first butterflies (two sparkling yellow Brimstones - Extra)

I headed off to Middleton Hall Lakes as the weather was promising. It was stunning blue skies and so much was around (including a very large group of twitchers from Wilmslow). Reported sightings of a Green winged Teal, the lesser spotted woodpecker (the rare one) and an Avocet or two.

At this time of year the Heronry provides hours of amusement and I chose this nest building shot to capture that atmosphere.

One chap commented that he loved the birds special plumage at this time of year..... “ it’s so rich, the bluetit is so, so, well, BLUE.”. Yes. You’re not wrong.

A fabulous walk, friendly people and so many birds posing in style
