Ageing
The passport renewal guidance states that only if your appearance has changed much should you complete the full form. Due to rapid onset ageing following sun exposure and work stress, I was nervous so decided to fill out all sections. I think this is quite a significant change in fewer than five years. The existing picture was taken just before I moved to Cambodia, since which time life has been very adventurous and work often intense. I was 30 then but looked about 17. Now perhaps the age and appearance match each other more evenly. In London at some ungodly gin-fuelled hour someone said I looked 29. They definitely weren't looking closely enough. And I think that night out aged me an additional year.
Filling in the passport form was perhaps the greatest achievement of the day, which was otherwise filled with loafing and re-discovering blueberry wheats cereals. Timothy is always a host who provides a restorative breakfast.
