Off the farm

This weekend was the only opportunity to have a weekend off the farm before Christmas, so we decided to jump at the chance, packed up the car, and headed to Kaiteriteri, about two and a half hours drive from home.

Known for its beautiful golden sand (made of quartz and mica particles) and clear blue-green water, Kaiteriteri has a motor camp, motels, a general store and a choice of places to eat. From Kaiteriteri you can catch a water taxi or tour into the Abel Tasman National Park; you can also hire kayaks or arrange to go seal swimming.

Farmerboy is looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow morning, not having to think about cows, and to put his feet up and relax.
