Head to Head

Both of us crawling through the undergrowth, both of us enjoying the sunshine and both of us meeting a tad unexpectedly...head to head or nose to nose depending.....

Delighted as I was with this encounter with an adder I think I would rather have had 2 seconds notice. 

Choices: Stay very still, retreat or as any nature photographer would automatically do - grab the camera oooo sooooo slowly very slowly!!! He was sunbathing very chilled and we both lived to tell the tale but he really didn't like me in his space!
