Cleaning silver

My bracelet has been looking dull, so I dipped it in silver cleaner today. I discovered that it is hallmarked Birmingham 1966, which surprised me as at the time we were living in Singapore. I also dipped the ring, which is unmarked but probably from Singapore or Hong Kong.
