Pieris japonica Katsura
Morning was spent in getting ready for heading down to Birmingham tomorrow for Conference. Clickychick had clients so Kanyl and I decided to have a trip out to a garden centre. It is interesting to see what they are providing each month and how the balance of plants to tools & equipment.
Apart from anything else as he put it "it gets us over the door step". We weren't there to buy just for a run out and see what was what. The Pieris above caught my eye and no I didn't buy it.
As the name suggests the Pieris is native of Japan. This particular variety has the "arching racemes of rose coloured bell shaped flowers in spring". As well as the flowers I find the striking red young foliage in spring.
