Penny’s back

I woke up with a bad tummy ache. I’m convinced now that it’s wine that irritates my stomach. Every time I have a drink these days, I end up with tummy pain the next day.
It was really sunny in the morning but after lunch it started to rain heavily and rained for the rest of the day. Bibi finished school at lunchtime and Penny sent a message at lunchtime to say they were leaving Devon. The builders next door were loud all day and spent most of the time walking on our roof. They were still making lots of noise at 7.30pm and I reminded them that they shouldn’t really be making noise after 6.30pm.
Ben came home from work at 4pm and set off to Pwllheli with the cats and the old fridge. We will be going tomorrow. I was concerned that Gwen (the car) wouldn’t start for us tomorrow so we decided to get her started today. She wouldn’t start so Bibi and Jack had to push start her. I drove for a little bit and then let Bibi take over and she drove for about 40 minutes. By the time we got home, the battery seemed sufficiently charged. Penny’s journey back from Devon had been delayed as they had to wait over an hour at Reading service station for the second driver to turn up. She didn't get back to school until 7.30pm. Luckily, Gwen started first time and I didn’t need a push start. Jack went to Kingston to meet his school friends and Bibi went to Catrin’s to celebrate Catrin being offered a place at New York University to study drama (with a scholarship). I ordered a pizza for Penny and I from Domino’s and then went to bed early.
