The Piper's Hole
Went down the Roslin Glen for my blip today. On the way along to the castle, I passed the place where my uncle David's ashes are scattered and I had a wee blether with him then walked down to the red bridge which takes you across the Esk.
I then took a few shots of the castle and the castle arch then on the way back, I took a few shots of the Piper's Hole. Now, the piper's hole is where william Wallace hid from the English when he was being hunted down for his crime against Longshanks. The Glen was so quiet today and as I took the first picture of the piper's hole I heard a rustle of leaves, When I looked round there was no one there. Took another picture then I saw this circle of hazy light in the shot and thought it was a smudge on my camera. I tried to wipe it away but it stayed there as it was part of the photo. I tried another picture of it and there was no circle so what it is, is it William Wallace's spirit or is it my uncle David's spirit or, is it some light trick off the camera.
I would like to think its my uncle David who walked along with me, keeping me company as I took my photos. When I passed where his ashes were scattered I said to him "uncle David, you always told me it was always sunny down the glen". Look at it now, its snowing. He never answered but maybe the fact it was snowing was all the answer I needed.
