New Neighbours?

I spotted him going in when I was making the tea this morning but he seemed very reluctant to come out (see extra).
Understandable though because the snow started shortly after and has been on all day ....... wet and only just heavy enough to start lying, but certainly horrible.

I have managed to get two of the spinning tops to work (one by cutting off most of the stem and slightly redesigning the weighted end and the other by just redesigning the bottom end.
Not sure what I am going to do with the third one.

Other experiments were a small box where the lid is a spinning top and I also tried off-center turning on a couple of bits of scrap mahogany (not a wood I enjoy working).
