Around Iceland with Zoe

The next day we set out from Djúpavogur with full stomachs and a 100% charged car. These stations are not intended for overnight charging, but as a pioneer and in -5 degrees and no other E-cars around, I did it anyway. The car was also nice and warm when we started out.
It was a much more difficult stretch, because between Egilsstaðir and Mývatn is a highland desert and no electricity. It is a 160 km trip and it was -11 °C. We charged for hours in Egilsstaðir but the car said it could only go 180 km when we set out. I ended up driving 50km/h just to make sure we made it, which we did. 24% charged when we arrived in Myvatn at the charging station that is in the parking space of a brand new hotel, so of course we decided to stay the night and charge the car overnight at the slow charging pole. Unfortunately it was broken, which meant we had to use the fast charging pole that is meant to be used for max 30 minutes. We did not have a choice but use more, because the trip from there to Akureyri is 100 km again over a mountain pass. I got billed double for charging so long. :)
But the views were absolutely stunning with the snow and sunshine on the mountains.
