Surf's up

I feel like a broken record.......gorgeous day, beautiful sunshine, stunning scenery (plus - because I've come the Kaikoura way home - road cones for Africa, road works galore, stop-go men and women doing a stirling [and sometimes entertaining!] job, bumpy roads, single lanes, distracting views.........but such a positive vibe from everyone).

I was led to this place - Hapuku, about 14kms north of Kaikoura.  Apparenlty it's the local surf go-to place but the thing that appealed to me was the great, long beachfront that is a big freedom camping area. 

I'll be back (sans surf board!!)
