Ancient Rome

By this morning my whole foot was swollen, covered in purple bruises but oddly little pain, so we spent the morning hobbling around the Trevi Fountain (beautiful and enormous but squashed in to a tiny piazza, not what I expected) and the Spanish Steps (just steps!).

In the afternoon we had a walking tour of Ancient Rome , which was amazing but tiring.

Todays picture is of the Colloseum. The holes in the walls are where the marble facades and bronze decorations were ripped off and recycled during the Renaissance era.
