red bike
we arrived safely in amsterdam this morning and were greeted by cold wet weather
after dropping bags at the hostel we headed on a walking tour of the city along the beautiful cannalled streets with trams and bikes too.
we visited the Anna Frank house which was moving. it was crazy to actually think she had lived and breathed here , all those years ago.
I saw her diary and was in the room where she and her family hid for 2 years. it was emotional.
we were in a group from uni but i felt very left out and lonely...its one thing travelling alone and being lonely but its another travelling in a group and still feeling left out!
i kept quite and went off on my own when we had 'free time'
i found beautiful cafe's and streets and cute red bikes like this....little shops that the average tourist would never find. i love days like this.
later that evening we got dropped in the red light district by our lecturers and it was scary...womens bodies pressed against the red windows, displayed for all to see:men and women alike. it made me sad more than anything.
i sat in a starbucks when it got dark and watched as people bumbled around the city, all on their way to and from places, i dont know where. but i liked watching them.
