Postcards
Today's the day ......................... to decorate
I've been doing a bit of painting in the kitchen today.
Nothing interesting, you understand - just a bit of touching up of doors and skirting that were definitely looking grubby. It also involved taking down a whole lot of postcards that we had received from various friends and family over the years - and stuck up on the pantry door. In doing this, of course, I had to re-read them all - much more interesting than painting.
They really did come from all corners of the globe. There was the one that Anna sent us from Cambodia when she was on her travels which ended with "See you in NZ!" (and we did). Quite a few were from Roma and John from far-flung places in Scotland that they went to in their boat. Lots from Sue and Howie who know that we love getting postcards - and likewise from Ron and Margaret. Each one was a memory for whoever it came from - and a souvenir for us.
The question is - do they go back up on the newly painted door? It's going to be impossible to throw them away, that's for sure .........................
