Darn That Cat!
Up to Cotehele to see the spring flowers in the sunshine. Daffodils, including one dating from 1610, Camellias, Anenome Blanda, Primroses and Fritillaries. They can all be seen here! I was intending on blipping the fritillaries until the leopard like cat came along the path! She too was inspecting the Spring flowers! I said at the time to my sister that I feared I would end up blipping her and so I have! I think she may be an Abyssinian? She's much friendlier when out in the garden rather than in the reception. When she is there she dislikes all the people coming and going!
Once home I started moving my pots around in the back yard, the tulips are coming up so needed to be moved more centrally rather than being hidden at the back! This involved moving the bird feeders too and once I'd finished the birds came to inspect where I had put them! I am getting quite a variety of spring birds visiting - a male and female blackbird, a wren, house sparrows, pigeons, collared doves, robins, coal tits and blue tits!
I have not seen the rat again but did find a mouse inside one of my bell jars which had drowned - I must put a stopper in them to stop this happening - hate to think of the poor thing getting trapped and then drowned in there - hopefully with all the rain we've been getting it was a quick drown not a being trapped for days and then drowned.
After all this activity I went upstairs to meditate - however I noticed more of the leaves on my Queen of the Night were dead so deciding I could not meditate on a dying plant I pruned it. I then moved two other plants, the Aloe Vera fell out of it's pot and I realised it had not rooted as I'd hoped when I'd last repotted it so that needed to be thrown out as it's huge lower leaves were also dying, and the Clivia needed repotting! I take a glass of water to bed with me and have been using it to water the plants in the morning - too much watering! But luckily the other Clivia, Umbrella Plant, and Peace lily are ok - all huge plants as I've had them for over 20 years!!
I finally meditated, and I so needed to - I had got quite frenetic with all today's activity! After dinner, I did more of my knitting - which would have been calming had I not realised when I came to the end of the first section I had too many stitches either side of the central spine!! I had misread the pattern and done 51 rows instead of increasing to 51 stitches and doing 47 rows! This is a pattern that needs concentration with it's increasing and I have not even got onto the lace making part! Definitly to be done listening to the radio at the very most when in an attentive state of mind!
