Can't Read My, Can't Read My....

This was my day today.

Lots of little faces, some with sausage roll applied. Some who don't want to sit down, but their parents tell me they do. I sit them down, ask them what they would like, make suggestions, and listen to their colours.

And then I start. I ask them to rest their chin in my hand, and then I begin to colour. Their faces are as serious as anything, and at times I'm quite concerned that they are hating what is happening.

A couple of times today, I stopped, rubbed out and started again. I watch Tooli's face - she's a good gauge as to whether it's going well or not. And then of course there are the ones who want something I have never ever heard of. "Spider Monkey" was todays. Apparently he is a friend of Ben 10, and is blue, with eight eyes.

He's not. I looked at him tonight, so I'm sorry Wee Lad, but you said eight eyes, and I gave you eight eyes.

When I've finished, I take their photo and turn it round to them, they stare at the picture intently, and then the best moment ever. Their eyes crinkle upwards, and the corners of their mouth widen, and then, some of them go "wow".

That is just the best.
