First view of Madeira

And we're off! Last minute items done. Off to the airport midday. Through security and time to have a late lunch. Everything went smoothly and the flight was on time.

Madeira greeted us with a few drops of rain but at least it was warm. Took ages getting through passport and getting hire car. I missed the turn off the motorway so it took longer to get there. Arrived 9.30pm.

Appartment is great. I can drop mum near the door but I am going to get fit parking the car and walking up the hill each day! Downside was we were too late for a supermarket and there was no welcome gift, not even a drop of milk for a drink tonight. Guess who is going down the hill to the shop first thing in the morning!
