A bundle of sticks?

The sticks are actually a valuable commodity to a hedge-layer. He (or she) had left them (along with another couple of bundles) at the side of the road next to the hedge that is being repaired. I expect that rain stopped play. 
I put off going for a walk until late afternoon - this was a mistake because the puddles were deeper and the mud was thicker and slimier.
Taken with my phone, as it was too wet to take a camera out. This is my contribution to the Mono Monday challenge set by chantler63 - "Every picture tells a story". I gave it this "olde" treatment as it could have been taken at any time. Some things never change.
