Rovinj

a picturesque city on the Adriatic close to the weekend campsite. A quick look around the old city with a warm brisk climb up to the church and thanks to Johns iPhone an easy route back to the van.

A good drive back to cat heaven via Slovenia later passing Trieste, a huge sprawling city famous for the iron curtain speech, the road looked down over of the city and out onto the Adriatic. We planned to look around but decided against another city trawl.

Much of the drive back to Santa Lucia was on the autostrada although luckily we drove part of the way through pretty lanes and a long valley of blossom with villages tucked in the hillsides and colours of cream, white and pink mingling within the bright green leaves.

It’s good to see all the little ‘gorgeousnesses’ if that’s a word, back at our temporary home, they did all the right actions and made suitable noises to endear themselves to us. As if they needed to.
