Bollards adorned
WOW. You can’t miss the street bollards in Romsey. About 100 of them in the Hampshire mrket town have been yarn-bombed for the summer.
It was first evident for the town’s Beggar’s Fair, a day-long urban music festival, a year ago. And they are back with a vengeance.
The street bollards are adorned with knitted covers, and the term of “bombing” derives fro the fact the bollards were all covered in one night. They were knitted by voluntary organisations, charities and even by or for individual businesses
The effect is to brighten the streets, and they certainly become a talking point in the town.
