Songkran
It's that time of year in Thailand when people play with water. This year we are better prepared and have bought water guns. On the whole it is a lot of fun, however, it can also be dangerous. People throw water over motor bike riders, over cars and of course soak pedestrians. Also, inevitably, as it also a three day public holiday, a lot of alchol is consumed. Last night the police were checking drivers for alcohol, by smelling their breath. The other thing that makes you realise the true extent of the danger is when you see a news video report about a coffin maker working overtime to ensure that enough coffins are available. Despite all the scary stuff it can still be fun as long as you are sensible. We will have a walk around our own area later on, no doubt we will get soaked, but this year we will fight back.
Happy Songkran.
