Social Tuesday
This was my room, this morning, above a pub a short walk from Euston. I love this place; the bar itself is gorgeous - good beer, lots of wood panelling - and the rooms are spartan, reminiscent (to me, at least) of Van Gogh's painting of his bedroom. I have, admittedly, totally failed to capture that in this photo.
The only slight downside are the shared facilities, but I made an early start and there was no one outside wrapped in a towel and tapping their foot when I finally came out, showered and shaved. For today I was seeing clients.
I walked across to near St James' Square for the meeting, for which I had correctly predicted the outcome. They are existing clients and wanted to talk to me about their website - which, of course, we can build - but actually what they really need is someone to help them understand their own brand and therefore their marketing. So I recommended the chap I was meeting later on.
Next it was coffee with my brother, Wol, which was fab. I really don't see him as much as I'd like to and, as is the case with a me and a lot of my friends, we don't really use the phone. We WhatsApp one another, but it's not the same, is it?
And then I walked down to London Bridge to meet up with Tom. (Long-suffering readers of my Blips might remember that a couple of years ago I went along to give a talk at his company.) We had a very enjoyable couple of hours chatting about this and that - he's a hugely interesting chap - including some marketing for a product we (my company) have.
After that, I took the tube back up to Euston and had a couple of drinks with my chum Dean before catching the train north to Manchester. The afternoon drinks acted as a time machine and barely had I rested my head on my seat but I was waking up at Piccadilly where the Minx, wonderfully, was waiting for me!
