Pied Wagtail

After some grim cold, living in the clouds days, the sun shone and the birds sang - we even saw a Small Tortoiseshell butterfly ( Extra photo)

I repeated my walk from 1st April and expected to see a few new migrant birds but so none NOT even the ones other people had seen in the same area (Swallows, Wheatear and Ring Ouzel) they all evaded me - a little disappointing but the Pied Wagtails cheered me and and butterfly day is a good day.
