Great Cycle South
Me, my friend Mel and her boyfriend Tim at the end of our 52 mile cycle from Farnborough to Portsmouth.
It was brilliant, we really enjoyed it and I impressed Mel by being stronger than she expected. She's always been fitter and faster than me (despite doing much less training than me) but I think I'm catching her up. The 52 miles took 3.5 hours of cycling time and about 5.5 hours altogether. We had a long stop for lunch in a pub with Ross and the boys and the other little stops must have added up to more than it seemed!
The weather was gloriously sunny and the wind was mostly blowing in the right direction but oh my goodness it was freezing! Most of it was on country roads and the autumn colours and views were beautiful. And coming towards Havant way up high above Portsmouth was pretty cool.
Ross and the boys met us at the end and even had a finishing tape for me to cycle through which was amazing! 3 other friends met us at the end too and gave me a lift to my hotel while Ross took Mel and Tim home. It was lovely to have great support from good friends.
