Great South Run

As I was on my own today there's no photos of me running so I nipped round to the finish once I'd done and got changed to get a photo of some finishers.

I had a brilliant run, doing much better than I expected and really, really enjoyed the whole race. I'd started faster than planned but didn't feel like I was running too fast so kept going but tried to remember the advice from a friend to hold a bit back for the last 2 miles which are always into the wind and hard. Well the last 2 miles were fine and I even managed to speed up slightly! My target time for if everything felt good was 1:29:59 and I finished in 1:27:30 so I was delighted.

The walk back to the station was very long and hard and confirmed that I couldn't have run any faster. Shame as I missed the hourly train home by 3 mins.
