Fading tulip
The first tulips to flower are now going over, and the stiff breeze today is battering them a bit. This one and its compatriots won't last much longer before the petals start to fall. Their foliage is looking very bad now and I suspect that they won't survive another year. But that's true of most of the tulips we have - the first year is very good, the next good or average, and then that's about it except for one or two which come back a third time.
I took a colour version of this, but for some reason the auto white balance renders the grey deck with a pinkish cast, which in this case marred the photo somewhat.
