Why use a toilet when there's the street?

Many Chinese are embarrassed by this kind of behaviour while others are absolutely oblivious.

A few days later while in an upmarket shopping plaza I saw a father let his daughter urinate on to the clean shiny tiled floor. There was a perfectly good toilet just 30 seconds away!?

Q. "Why?" A. (sic) "He / She's just a child"

This is not an altogether uncommon sight in China.
