Connections

We’re all wearing something blue.

We’re all “senior citizens”.

Five out of six of us are photographers, and connected right here, on Blipfoto.

Four of us live in Portland, Oregon. Two of us live in a smaller version of Portland — Bellingham, Washington.

We gathered to celebrate the move that RavensRoost and J, her husband (left), have made to Portland, along with her sister, Bluheron (center), Pilipo (Phil), and kendallishere.

To say that much merriment ensued would be an understatement, although we did also discuss serious topics — the lack of services for those without homes and those needing mental health care, the current occupant of the White House and his cronies, among others — but we also laughed whole-heartedly at each other’s funny tales.

A shared meal of creative Asian entrees at a nearby restaurant, hosted by RavensRoost and J, and their kindness in taking us back to our Airbnb, wrapped up a memorable time together.

I will be forever grateful to Blipfoto for enabling me to meet these dear people, and many others, thanks to our common interest in photography and the daily lives of folks around the world.
