A man feeding the cygnets and swans.
I am happy with my choice at last! I have taken many photos this morning, including two beautiful cats and woodland scenery.
I was intending to blip the woodland on Barnmeadow Crescent with amber leavy carpet, lively squirrel, and magical trees, but as I crossed the High Street bridge, I was thrilled to see the four cygnets and parent swans being fed generously. It is bright and sunny and less cold today, a good start to the week.
I stayed up last night until the early hours, 2.30am, doing a bit of research about Lincoln Cathedral.
Since our visit to Lincoln , as mentioned in a previous blog, I am enraptured by its history and the need to fund restoration there. Much work is going on there to sustain the stonework and it is very much in need of funds and prayerful support.
After indulging in a few treats from the online shop, I stayed up watching a fascinating You Tube film about St. Hugh of Avalon, later Bishop of Lincoln.
The clip is called Redemption at Lincoln and is about 68 mins long.
Well worth watching if you are interested.
Hugh is remembered as a genuinely compassionate and holy bishop, very prayerful and unselfish.
Hugh was often seen accompanied by a wild swan. There is a beautiful carving of St.Hugh and a swan inside the cathedral and this is his emblem.
His feast day is 17th November and he is the patron saint of swans.
I am sure he knows how much I enjoyed seeing these swans being treated kindly on the canal. Thanks Hugh!
Divine timing just never fails to amaze me.
