Everyday I Write The Book

Firelight

Tonight was the first night of summer. We sat in the garden until half past nine, listening to music, talking, drinking, laughing and enjoying the warmth of a log fire. It was lovely; an antidote to a difficult day in the office for TSM and The Dizzle and a very long day working at home for me (I started at 6am and finished at 5.30pm).

Monty went to the vet for yet another ear operation (they cauterised his wound this time) and it was a beautiful sunny day for those of us at home. At least I could walk around the garden every hour or so when the papers, phone calls and emails all got too much.

But tonight made up for a lot. Nothing like a log fire on a summers evening when the sun has gone down...
