Ma wanted to see the sea, and the forecast said we had until 10am if we wanted to beat the rain. We set off for Penarth early and actually managed to avoid it! It was however, ridiculously windy - great day for me to wear a short floaty dress. Very glad I was wearing tights.

We walked to the end of the pier and then took shelter in the cafe for hot chocolate, then wandered back through the town going in as many charity shops as possible.

Back to Cardiff, and we walked out of town to Society Standard for Mac and cheese (worth the walk, even though Ma got quite hangry). In the afternoon we spent a couple of hours at home, chilling and drinking tea, then walked back into town just before 9 for some cocktails.
