To stay or go?

This big yew tree stands outside the main church door, to the right of the picture. It has been allowed to get too large, blocks out light and makes the entrance dark. And all those berries scatter themselves over the entrance ramp, making it slippery.
The question is: should it come down, or not?
Much discussion and consultation with the appropriate authorities is in progress.
The yew tree's fate hangs in the balance!
