Sandy Blowing Leaves

I wanted to post today's blip ahead of a potential power outage caused by Tropical Storm Sandy. So here it is, leaves blowing around midday--the winds were no more than ca. 30 mph (50 kmph). They've strengthened very markedly as I post this at 3:30 pm.

This 'motel' has been closed for years--at least since we moved here from Manhattan in 2003. So the boarded-up doors and windows are not due to Sandy :) I'll try for something more dramatic early tomorrow. We're keeping our fingers crossed about the power--our main worry.

Edit: The year-ago blip is the first of four marking last year's snow storm (caused by Irene). This evening things look increasingly less threatening.
