Birthdays
This weekend is the celebration of William Shakespeare's birthday, believed to be 23rd April 1564 (assumed because there were no birth records in those days, only baptism, and he was baptised on April 26th). The great and good of Stratford gather together and parade through the town, the centre of which was closed off, in all their finery, some in costume. Luckily they had a very good day for it, well at least morning, warm and sunny and the crowds turned out in their hoards. Ann was in town in time to see some of the parade, I turned up towards the end when they were dispersing including these two characters with their serpent and hobby horse.
Today is also the Queen's 92nd birthday, far less celebrations for her in Stratford.
