Rochdale Canal from Dale Street. I think.
Into Manch, this afternoon, for a late lunch and a couple of beers at Trof* with my friend, Ian. As I've no doubt mentioned on here before, we first met in March 2000, when I started a contract at JP Morgan in Glasgow. I remember quite clearly that having identified one another as music lovers, he told me how much he loved Simple Minds' 'Sons and Fascination'. This is how enduring friendships begin!
Later on in the afternoon we were joined by Simon and, as you might expect, had a few more drinks. (As an aside, I do love it when you introduce people to one another and they get on so well that they become friends.)
So it was that, at half-seven, and slightly worse for wear, I made my way to Piccadilly Station. I think I must have taken this from Dale Street; I do love a canal.
*I am, indeed, a beggar for punishment.
