Surprise snakehead

This afternoon I planted up some of the bedding plants I bought yesterday in pots but they will be staying in the greenhouse for at least a couple of weeks until I am a bit more confident that the frosts are over (I suspect we had a frost a couple of nights ago).

I used to have a large planter whiich had a number of snakes head fritillary bulbs in. But after the planter fell apart last year I couldn’t remember what had happend to the bulbs. It turns out that thechimp had planted some in the grass in the back garden and I also found the one in this picture was all on its own beside an apple tree
