Learning day by day

It is safe to say that the special family day out for William's birthday was a success. William was asleep in the car on the way their within 20 mins of driving a sure sign that his interesting behaviour this week has been down to not catching up on his sleep from being ill at the beginning of the week. When we got there both children loved the park and C was very good allowing W to mostly choose where we went and what we did and who he sat beside.

We went on an old fashioned carousel first followed by Bertie Bus Ride, then a very long queue to ride on Harold (which made Mummy feel a bit travel sick). Then Daddy took them both on Bulstrode and the man running the ride saw W's Birthday Boy badge and gave him a book about the sneaky diesels. Lucky W. Carys and I went on the Cranky Crane drop ride and then we stood in a ridiculously long queue to ride on either Thomas or Percy. Although W was philosophical about the chance we might be on Percy he had a great big grin when we were lucky enough to get on Clarabel with Thomas (of course) pulling her.

Time for lunch then we went on to the Big Wheel, Troublesome Trucks Rollercoaster (which brought William to the brink of tears, but he recovered immediately we got off) and Jeremy's Air Academy. Lots more rides ensued, including Carys and I going back on the trucks with W watching from a safe distance. Then we went to see James, who was reating in the sidings as he had been very useful! That is where this is taken.

At the end of the day (5PM) we put both kids in pj's and gave them a picnic tea in the car as we crawled out of the car park. They ate their tea and both fell asleep at the same time (6.40pm) and didn't wake when we lifted them into bed.
