Expo 1958
I'm back in Brussels and as I am driving a hire car this time and the roads were (as usual) jammed I decided to pull off the Ring Road and take a few photos of the Atomium. Amazingly this was constructed 60 years ago for a World Fair. Some 42 million people visited it over 6 months and 8 in 10 Belgians attended the event (thats a lot better turnout than in their elections). The talking point was apparently the speed of the lift - 5m / sec.
Today the exhibition centre next door was housing the World Seafood event, so thats why there are no rooms to be had for miles around.
The extras show my appetite for anything symmetrical.
