Centre Fraternal, Palafrugell
Woot! I made the spotlight for a brief moment of glory -- first time since my 100th entry! So first, thank you to everyone who kindly commented on yesterday's entry. I think that was the most comments I've ever had. I really appreciate it, especially as I don't always manage to comment as much as I would like.
In the spirit of fraternity, which is such an important component of Blipfoto, here's a glimpse of the Centre Fraternal in Palafrugell. It's a splendid building on the main square, housing a cafe which is run by a sort of "friendly society" founded in 1887. It's been in these premises since 1897. It has a lovely atmosphere and looks so warm and welcoming when you walk past its lighted windows. Usually, there are people playing cards and chess, and the walls are lined with caricatures of members (you can just see some of them in this photo). You don't have to be a member to eat and drink there -- although a few tables are reserved for members. It's clearly the hub of social life in Palafrugell.
