Foraging in the garden

Each day Dr D takes the walnut gatherer that you see here, down to the walnut tree and pushes it over the lawn under the tree. The walnuts obligingingly jump into the high tensile "ball" and he wheels it back up to the "toy" shed where the chicken-wire based racks rest, holding this year's harvest in order to enable drying for a few weeks. Then , as shown yesterday, we crack them and put them in handy bags in the freezer .
Today's foraging  in the garden found lemons, limes, guavas , more feijoas and some tangelos as well as a handful of wild mushrooms which, with a little bacon, made a tasty  morsel for lunch .
