At last I have been able to run again. A 6k run on the trails around Penicuik. It seems like ages since I went out and it certainly feels like it. My legs were so sore, like muscles needed a good oil! Took a couple of miles to warm up and then i was struggling with my head - losing so much fitness when all around me people are getting fitter and faster than me. People who I have encouraged to run, nudged to go out and do it.
Watched the results of 10 harriers doing the highland fling race, a friend doing her first half and a friend returning after having a baby. Felt inspired to get out there. I need another challenge to get myself out again as it wasn’t as much fun as it used to be, being a lot less fit is the only reason. Not training for 5 months has taken its toll.
