Sunday Sandstone.
Sunday morning and the day we are going home but not until the afternoon so, after breakfast and checking out of the hotel, we walked into Sidmouth. In the National Trust shop we saw the workers' dog sitting on the counter in his Adidas sweatshirt.
Our plan was to walk West along the coastal path beneath the red sandstone cliffs then up onto the top of them, yet more climbing!
On the beach we watched the lifeboat, which I guess had been out for training, being recovered which involved a large tractor driving into the sea with a trailer and the lifeboat then reversing into said trailer before being towed back onto the beach.
Our climb then began and seemed to go on for ever until we got to the top of Peak Hill. It was worth it, the views were fantastic and so was the return journey, all down hill and a celebratory Ice Cream at the bottom of Jacobs Ladder.
Lunch was in the local independent department store (Fields) and then we got to go inside a fascinating home design shop the we had looked in the windows of on the previous evenings. I fell in love with a tea light house, see extra.
All in all a fantastic weekend with a truly lovely lady.
