the peaceful wild
Our quick overnight trip to our new home on Iron Mountain was just what we needed. A getaway, a few moments to catch our breath and an opportunity to take in what we purchased. When we bought the house and acreage a few months ago, everything was under 3 feet of snow. Seeing it this weekend without the covering of snow, was almost like unwrapping a present. So many layers.
Had a lovely time with the neighbours last night and so appreciative that we already know people on the mountain. I woke up around 3am and wasn't able to fall back to sleep again so got up and just sat for a while in the great room enjoying the newness. It's so quiet...so remote and very different from where we have lived. There's much that will be new and alot I have to learn.
Snapped a quick photo of one of many ponds and lakes in the area on our way down the mountain. Once we've moved, you will be getting an eyeful of the beauty and ruggedness that will become part of my daily world.
