Not Chocolate Pudding...

...or mud. It's the magic floor leveling compound. It comes in the form of a powder which is mixed with water to make a thin, runny soup. After all the gaps around the perimeter are filled with caulking, or taped off, the mixture is poured on the floor until all the low spots are filled, and the floor is perfectly flat (and level).

The mixture sets in a day, but needs a few more days for the moisture content to drop before the wood floor can be installed. It won't be long before we have a beautiful shiny bamboo floor.
