Coal tit
After yesterday's lovely sunshine the rain returned in the early hours of this morning. While it may put the mockers on our plans, the garden birds carry on with their daily routines as usual.
I didn't get much sleep yesterday, so by 3 o-clock this morning i was pretty much on my knees, so i did my ten hours and left work at 3-30.
After falling asleep in my chair in the conservatory Bev woke me with a lovely cuppa at quarter to seven.
Blip time.
The water cannon i bought to chase away the local cats from the garden comes in handy to disperse the pigeons. While the Jays are welcome in the garden, i find their presence makes the smaller birds wary about coming into the garden.
Nothings ever straight forward, earlier in the year Bev bought me a ground feeding table, which came complete with a cage which fits over the table and is pegged to the ground, the cage allows smaller birds upto Blackbird / Starling size through and onto the table while the pigeons are kept off, excellent. Unfortunately even though the cage was pegged down, it didn't deter the local Badger, pegs and cage overturned, food eaten.............
The Jay's have just turned up, so i'm going to whizz down the road and get the tortoise's breakfast.
