Yesterday we went to Paimpont and explored the forest for the afternoon. It is supposed to be the remnant of the legendary Brocéliande. The shops and bars in Paimpont certainly play up the association with Arthurian romance.
We did not find any traces of Merlin excreta, unsurprisingly.
We were rather more hopeful of finding some tasty boletes but, although we did see a variety of fungus, none looked good to eat. It is probably a bit late in the year.
This image is from one of the bars in Paimpont, where the walls are covered with mushroom identification posters.
Thank you all for your lovely comments about my blip yesterday, I was rather pleased with it.
