Goldfinch

Today's the day ............................... for a liquid twitter

That's how the song of a goldfinch is described in my bird book - and it's actually very accurate.  They have a very distinctive flight too - as the book says - undulating and dancing - and while they're flying, they're usually doing the liquid twitter at the same time.

They're one of my favourite birds and they're easy to spot perched on the telegraph wire behind our house ...........................
