Chestnut

Today's the day ....................... when the grass was greener

This lovely chestnut-brown mare came over to say hello to me as I walked along the footpath between fields today.  I didn't have anything to give her but possibly other people have - and that's why there was an electric fence running parallel to the field boundary.

It didn't stop her though from getting a mouthful of grass growing on the other side of the electric fence.  You know that they say 'the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence' ?  Well, it actually was. 

I was hoping she wouldn't electrocute herself on the wire - but she was very good at keeping out of its way.  Or maybe it was those rubber shoes she was wearing ......................?
